Tom is an Oregon native and MIT mathematics major. A retired software engineer with nine years of experience at the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, he currently leads the photoelectric photometry section of the American
Association of Variable Star Observers. Chief Bottle Washer of the BAC.

Mike is the owner of an astronomy education business and has extensive experience in public education covering numerous astronomy topics. He is a former staff member at a local public astronomy observatory and has five college
degrees culminating in a Doctor of Arts in Philosophy and Religion. College classes include a full year of astronomy course work. He leads the radio astronomy group of the Rose City Astronomers.

Steve has had a life-long interest in astronomy and all things space related. He started his astrophotography adventure just a few years ago when he purchased his first “smart” telescope. Steve is retired from a 30+ years career in
materials science in the aerospace and energy-related fields. He received his Ph.D. in physical chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley.

Brandon is a research astrophysicist with a PhD background in high-redshift quasars and early galaxy formation using data from observatories around the world. He is passionate about communicating science and sharing how
astronomers make sense of the universe.

Adam is a lifelong amateur astronomy enthusiast who started his journey in astrophotography in the spring of 2025 with the purchase of his first astrophotography smart telescope. Originally from Canada, Adam works in Cyber
Security helping organizations recover from and protect themselves from cyber attacks. Adam has lived in Bend for 10+ years and enjoys camping and traveling in addition to photographing the night sky.
